Bilateral cooperation


Management and financing of national strategic R&D programmes defined in the National Research Programme that are directly focused on development of innovation are main tasks of the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR).
According to article 30, paragraph 1, point 4 of Law on NCBR issued April 30th 2010 (Journal of Laws No 96, pos. 616) NCBR takes part in realization of international scientific and development programmes including programmes co-financed from foreign sources.
According to mandatory regulations NCBR may collaborate with national and international entities within formal commitments on realization of  joint undertaking and act as partner, stakeholder, or shareholder of companies located in Poland and also in other countries.
Bilateral co-operation supports realization of NCBR mission aimed at  supporting Polish scientific institutions and enterprises in the process of developing their capacity to create research based solutions in order to ensure development of national economy and benefits for society. It strengthens position of Polish R&D entities in the world and European Research Area as well as in joint international undertakings.  

Before initiating contacts and signing formal commitments on bilateral co-operation with foreign partners NCBR considers and takes into account the following:

  • Common thematic priorities,
  • Economic benefits,
  • Experience of Polish partners and their best practices resulted from former collaboration,
  • Geographic vicinity,
  • Cultural and historic relations at the level of entities and states.
We are pleased to announce that on 22 May 2018 the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR), together with the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of Taiwan is opening a call for bilateral projects.
We are pleased to inform that on 19 January 2018, the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) along with the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) launched the call for joint R&D proposals in the thematic area
We kindly inform that last 3 applications submitted from 13 September 2017 to 11 October 2017 under the call for bilateral activities supported under the Fund for Bilateral Relations were verified. Based on the results of verification 2 applications were funded for the total amount of 5000 EUR.
An executive agency of the Minister of Science and Higher Education begins the implementation of the hydrogen storage programme. Its purpose is to develop an innovative mobile hydrogen container for use with fuel cells.
The call for proposals will open on 19 February in the first competition of INGA programme - Innovative Gas Industry.
Even more than 1,000 eco-friendly new generation buses can hit the streets of Polish cities by 2023. The National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR), an executive agency of the Minister of Science and Higher Education, announced the order under the Zero-Emission Public Transport programme.
On 29 December 2017 the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) signed a contract with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSW) to finance the purchase of new generation buses for Polish cities
The second edition of the EEA and Norway Grants comes to an end. Poland can boast the largest number of grants. A conference was held on 21 November in Warsaw to sum up the Polish-Norwegian Research Programme run by NCBR.
The National Centre of Research and Development (NCRD) is looking for candidates for experts in the Smart Growth Operational Programme 2014-2020 (SG OP). The deadline for submitting application is the 15th of September, 2017, at 16:30.
